And that fizzled out because I couldn’t come up with 25 different craft techniques.

And then GeekBaby started singing Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer.

There’s nothing wrong with Rudolph, per se, but I was at a loss to where he learned it. And so I asked him.

Really? Of all the million useful things they could be teaching my four year old in CCE, they picked Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer? And then they wonder why people are poorly catechized!

Sounds about like what I remember from our religious education classes.

  1. Argh, it drives me crazy. Teach them to sing O Come O Coe Emmanuel, or the Gloria, or something USEFUL to their wee lives as Catholics. Preschoolers generally like singing anything that’s got a tune, they aren’t picky. Don’t pretend Rudolph caters to their taste!

    1. Good grief, even “Do you hear what I hear?” or “Hark, the Herald Angels sing!” or “Come, all ye faithful”– you can belt those easily, and I notice that’s what little ones seem to like!
