Basically, my takeaway is: if it’s important that the group be considered Catholic, then it should be considered Catholic; if it doesn’t matter that it’s actually Catholic, don’t identify as Catholic.

  1. No argument. However, I think this is not just a problem with Catholic organizations but with all Christian organizations.
