I don’t care how “gifted” you are at math or languages or even writing, you are not gifted enough to intuit the whole thing at our present level.  NO MATTER HOW GIFTED YOU ARE, YOU’RE NOT GOING TO RECONSTITUTE AN ENTIRE SCIENCE OR ART WITHOUT LEARNING.  And learning means some tedium, some memorizing and the inevitable patch that is difficult, even though everything else came easily.

No, not on the heads of some smarty pants.  On those who throw fits because insert-a-form-of-kids-these-days don’t know the stuff that the person throwing a fit knows, or believes, without having ever been taught.

So very tired of having folks get pissy because someone doesn’t know things they were never even told, let alone taught.
