About 16 years back-

a woman, mother of some classmate, walked up to my mother in the store and demanded to know if she was still “proud” of me now that my “choice” had a “price.”

My mother singed her ears because when I signed up for the Navy in late December of ’00, I knew I was joining a military force.

I knew I was signing a check up to and including my life.

Because this country is worth it.

If some worthless scum whose primary job skill is manipulating people thinks that recognizing that is an insult?  Then she has shown she’s more worthless than any insult I could possibly throw at her.

Yeah. I knew the risk when I signed up.  And I got lucky enough to come back in one piece.

If you think that taking that risk, knowing it is real, is somehow an insult?  Well… there is nothing worse I can say about you.

  1. I have to admit the whole press brouhaha makes me want to headdesk. Or introduce someone else’s head to a desk. What’s being broadcast about this is… despicable. Purely despicable.

  2. The more the left talks, the more I become convinced that things won’t change until people get lined up against a wall somewhere.
