The worst choice I made during the current period of limited modified house arrest was to stop dressing for work. I’ve fallen into the habit of wearing a tee shirt, usually a metal band tee shirt, and jeans without shoes while working from home.

I think it has led to less separation of home life from work life with the resultant stress.

He also recreated a morning commute, which may or may not work for you, but go read the rest of the brain-hack he figured out.

(I can’t test it myself, my work uniform *IS* jeans and a t-shirt, Iowa never went into lockdown, and Momming is an essential activity anyways.)

    1. The realization that clothing *is* armor was actually quite useful to me in high school. I lived in heavy knit sweaters for a few years after that, because the armor helped.

      Was actually just laughing with my husband about my inability to wear PJs all day. I can last to about nine, then I need to have real clothing.

  1. Yeah, I’ve been dressing up for meetings.

    I do pants and shirt, not just shirt. If I did it all the time, it would lose the psychological effect, and the things that irritate me about my formal garb would irritate me all the time.
