All because I wanted to link a meme to Mary at Sarah’s….
Because of someone’s friend’s haiku:
Meme-trove for Sarah’s off-handed comment on today’s post.
Watched Log Horizon season 2 episode 10, Guild Master.
Basically the whole thing was a sort of gamer’s version of the St Crispin’s speech — to the point I leaned over to my husband and murmured “be he ne’er so vile” and got a quick snicker– and oh my goodness, this show is gorgeous. Really, go watch it. If you are not a gamer, and don’t “get” it– well, they’re hard core raiders, but that speech will give you an idea.
There was one point where I commented that it must be a really popular wall paper, and I popped on to find it.
Couldn’t. (that’s the short version)
So here it is, and I’ll follow it with some key words so folks might be able to find it:
The episode synopsis is:
Guild Leader – William, the leader of the combat guild Silver Sword, faces a great crisis as his guild has been defeated and is thinking of going home and quitting. He gives an inspiring speech to rally them into the fight once more.
blogpost, Charm is Better Than Strength.
Steve Rogers: Attention all S.H.I.E.L.D. agents, this is Steve Rogers. You’ve heard a lot about me over the last few days. Some of you were even ordered to hunt me down.
But I think it’s time to tell the truth. S.H.I.E.L.D. is not what we thought it was. It’s been taken over by HYDRA. Alexander Pierce is their leader. The S.T.R.I.K.E. and Insight crew are HYDRA as well.
I don’t know how many more, but I know they’re in the building. They could be standing right next to you. They almost have what they want. Absolute control.
They shot Nick Fury. And it won’t end there. If you launch those helicarriers today, HYDRA will be able to kill anyone that stands in their way. Unless we stop them.
I know I’m asking a lot. But the price of freedom is high. It always has been. And it’s a price I’m willing to pay. And if I’m the only one, then so be it. But I’m willing to bet I’m not.
